Matheson Advises Kanadevia Inova on Dublin WtE Facility Transaction

A Matheson team led by  George BradyConor Blennerhassett, Jenny Keenan, Jessica Branigan and Junaid O’Balogun is delighted to have advised Kanadevia Inova, a global leader in solutions for the energy transition and circular economy, on the agreement to acquire the operator of the Dublin Waste to Energy Facility (Encyclis Ireland Operations Limited) and on its major upgrade of this state of the art WtE facility.

The Dublin Waste to Energy Facility currently diverts up to 600,000 tonnes of waste per year from landfill. The agreed transaction foresees Kanadevia Inova taking over the operation and maintenance of the Facility from Encyclis and paves the way for an increase in the Facility’s waste throughput capacity by 90,000 tonnes per year.

The cross departmental Matheson team also included Kate McKenna, Vahan Tchrakian, Chloe Power, Ruadhan Kenny, Heloise Lepoutre, Rachel Barry, Tarisai Chidawanyika, Rory Penny, Andrew Moloney, Zainab Masood, Lauren McBrien, Sophie Lawless and Tom O’Donnell among others.

George Brady commented "we were delighted to support Kanadevia Inova on this transaction, which brings this essential piece of Irish infrastructure into its operational portfolio and will enable the facility to increase its contribution to Ireland’s waste management objectives.”
