Firm recognised in four categories - Aviation Finance; Financial Services; Loans & Financing; and Mergers & Acquisitions
Matheson LLP has been awarded thirteen Deals of the Year by Finance Dublin in its Deals of the Year Awards 2024. The awards include deals in four categories: Aviation Finance; Financial Services; Loans & Financing and Mergers and Acquisitions.
The number of deals which Matheson has been recognised for has continued to grow year on year, reflecting the ongoing growth in the depth and breadth of our financial services and M&A practices. Two notable deals in which Matheson was centrally involved in the 2024 awards are the Mergers & Acquisitions Deal of the Year winner; in which the firm advised Horizon Therapeutics plc on the completion of its $27.5 billion acquisition by Amgen Inc, and the Loans & Financing Deal of the Year award recipient, which saw Matheson advise Smurfit Kappa on its proposed combination with WestRock Company, valued at circa $20 billion.
Each year, the Finance Dublin Deals of the Year Awards profile the leading deals, deal makers and advisers in the Irish market, and also highlight the calibre of professional services expertise that exists to service Ireland's corporate and financial services activity. The judging panel has made a total of 46 awards this year, a record number, across six broad categories of Ireland's capital markets and financial services industry.
Matheson’s Managing Partner, Michael Jackson commented; “We are delighted to have been awarded thirteen deals in this year's Finance Dublin awards. The legal services market in Ireland continues to grow and develop, and as a large full-service law firm these deals are further examples of the strength and depth which Matheson possesses across our more than thirty practice areas. Our Corporate M&A team has been consistently ranked at the top of the market for many years now, and our Aviation and Finance and Capital Markets teams continue to deliver for clients on complex and innovative domestic and international corporate transactions across all industry sectors.”
“I want to thank all my colleagues who play such a key part in helping us to maintain our strong reputation and to consistently grow our share of the international market. It is wonderful to see their efforts reflected in these awards. However, a special thank you goes to our clients for their continued support in allowing us to work on these complex deals.”
