Matheson LLP is pleased to have
advised Curriculum
Associates, LLC, a leading U.S. K-12 company which partners
with educators to develop instructional and diagnostic solutions for both
students and teachers in relation to its acquisition of Soapbox Labs Limited,
an Irish headquartered global leader in voice AI for kids, powering
equity-driven learning experiences for students. This new development
marks a significant milestone for both Curriculum Associates and Soapbox
Labs. It is the first non-U.S. acquisition by Curriculum Associates and
the first of an Irish business. For Soapbox Labs it is an opportunity to expand
its equity-driven learning experiences to even more students and their
teachers.
Our Corporate M&A team led by partners Patrick Spicer, Robert Maloney Derham and Rob Barrett, associates Sinead Loughran and Joanna Crowley, solicitor Ally McCourt and trainee David Dempsey advised Curriculum Associates on the acquisition. A wider Matheson team of lawyers from other practice areas were also involved in the transaction, including Technology and Innovation, Employment and Pensions, Commercial Real Estate, Finance and Tax.
Robert Maloney Derham, partner in the firm's corporate M&A team commented: "We are delighted to have advised Curriculum Associates on their first M&A transaction in Ireland. Working alongside the Curriculum Associates team, advising a market leader in their industry sector is consistent with our strategy of being the Law Firm of choice for internationally focused companies doing business in and from Ireland. We look forward to working with the combined Curriculum Associates and the Soapbox Labs team as they continue to grow out their innovative offering to more students and teachers globally."
